Vya’pak,a Shaoca

Do Half bath before Sadhana, meals and sleep.

  • Genital Area: Pour cool (or lukewarm, in cold climates) water over the genital organs.

  • Arms and Legs: Wash hands and arms up to the elbows, Legs up to the knees, Feet.

  • Face and Eyes: Hold a mouthful of water. With the eyes wide open, splash the face and eyes at least twelve times using a fresh handful of water each time. Spit out the water after splashing.

  • Ears and Neck: Wash the ears and the neck thoroughly.

  • Nasapádaná (Nasal Cleansing): Gently draw water in through the nostrils and expel it through the mouth. Perform only on an empty stomach.

  • Throat Cleansing: Insert the right middle finger into the back of the mouth to help expel mucus from the throat.

  • Optional Step: Some practitioners apply water to the navel area as well.
